This is an introductory course on  Electromagnetism one of the main courses of Physics department for B.Sc. students.

Lecture  1: ( Saturday  - 27 Shahrivar 1400 -  18 Sep 2021 )

In the first lecture, we had an introduction on electromagnetism (EM). We discussed how this theory in important in the sense of its relation with special relativity and quantum field theory. Then we discuss about the concept of the unification and the role of EM. We also discuss about the EM and optics. The quantization of charge and its conservation is discussed as well.

In this lecture, we start talking about the concepts in vector calculus. How the scalars, vectors and tensors emerged in physics. The idea of coordinate transformation and definition of scalar, vector and tensor is discussed. The Levi-Cevita symbol is introduced.

In this lecture, we introduce the concept of the metric tensor. In this direction the spherical coordinate is discussed. Finally we talk about the concept of Gradient.

In this lecture we go through the concepts of gradient, divergence and curl and also the second derivatives.

In this lecture we investigate the integral calculus. We study about the Gauss and Stokes theorem and also the derivatives in spherical coordinates.

In this lecture, we study the concept of the conductors and capacitors. We start chapter three by the basics of uniqueness theorem.

The idea averaged potential and extermum in boundary condition of Laplace equation is discussed.

We beging by studying the concept of imaging charge to solve Laplace equation and then we start working on the idea of separation of variables.
