This is a B.Sc. course, which will be held in Physics Department of Sharif University of Technology.
Class Time: Sunday and Tuesday 16:30 - 18:00
Place: Physics Department - Room No.
Office Hours: Mondays 9:00 - 10:00 / Tuesdays 9:00 - 10:00 (Or by appointment)

About the Course:
The main subject of the course is an Introduction to Astronomy
The topics that will be covered or touched are as below:
1) Introduction to Astronomy, why and how?
2) Spherical Astronomy
3)Obseravtions and Instruments
4) Photometric Concepts
5) Physics of Light and Matter
6) Solar System
7) Stellar Physics I
8) Stellar Physics II
9) Interstellar medium
10) Milky Way
11) Galaxies
12 ) From Astronomy to Cosmology
The main goals of Course:
1) Making a solid background in Astronomy
2) Give an inspiration an motiviation to become an Astronomer!
Grading:
Assignments: 4 points (due to your performance plus minus 1)
Midterm exam: 6 points * TUESDAY - 7 Ordibehesht 95 - 26 April 2016 - @ 16:30 - 18:30 - Talar # 2
Final Exam: 8 points * MONDAY - 31 Khordad 95 - 20 June 2016 - @ 9:00
Class Activity and Project: 3 points (due to your performance plus minus 1) PROJECT DUE to TUESDAY 20 Tir 95 - 10 July 2016
