Dream
I had a dream last night A dream of cool A dream of light A dream of glee Of sweet delight
I had a dream last night Beauty divine Touching the soul Holy design Devoid of dole
I had a dream last night Of fatherly love Of heavenly bliss Of guilt bereft All plight amiss
I had a dream last night Of laughter full And no regrets No sense of time No loss, no debts
I had a dream last night And blessed was the stroke Alas, 'twas too short To a nightmare I woke
Tonight I'll dream again Of joys we do not share Of those who are not us Of that which is not there
Tonight I'll dream again And let the spirit fly Enjoy the flight I will Mine's not to reason why
Tonight I'll dream again What a break from bleak life Like pausing a lost game Postponing a doomed strife
Tonight I'll dream again... Aah! Enough of this nonsense Dreams are to show a way Not seal in, like a fence
So yes! I'll dream again It's good to know what's good Tomorrow when I rise I'll do the things I should
As morrows come and go I'll make my dreams come true Whenever I lose sight Dream again I will do
And there will come a day To relinquish the theme To let go of the time And be born to the dream.
