Farzad Tahami, Ph.D., P.E., is a Senior Member of IEEE. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Mashhad, Iran, in 1991, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, in 1993 and 2003, respectively.
From 1991 to 2004, he was with R&D department of Jovain Electrical Machines Corporation (JEMCO), Iran. In 2004, he joined Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, where he is a professor and manager of power electronics lab.
Prof. Tahami has led various industrial projects and is the recipient of Distinguished Researcher Award for international collaborations (2018) and Distinguished Researcher Award for technology development(2016), both from Sharif University of Technology. He has also received the 2020 SUT award for Distinguished Book Writer.
From 2007 to 2021, he was the Chairman of the technical committee of rotating machinery, the Iranian National Electrotechnical Committee (INEC). Prof. Tahami is a Member of the Board of Directors and the Chairman of the education committee of the Power Electronics Society of Iran (PESI).
